1.1. ScOLa Get-together

It is that time of the year again 🙂 As the culmination of the Fall Semester approaches, preparations are underway for our annual get-together event.

The aim of this event is to facilitate the exchange of expertise, disseminate the outcomes of our research endeavors and share best practices implemented in our classrooms.  This collaborative effort is intended to foster continuous personal and professional development within our ScOLa community. Furthermore, this event serves as a unique opportunity for all of us teaching at different levels, within different teams and programs to catch up and socialize, which is not always possible once the semester starts.

With this aim in mind, we extend an invitation for your active participation by submitting abstracts for presentations to be included in the event program.

If you are interested in giving a presentation in this event on January 31, please complete the application form below and return it to esra.celik@ozyegin.edu.tr by December 22.

2.1. A2 Support Lessons – Update

As announced earlier, we have been giving support lessons to a number of A2 students since week 6 of the Fall Semester. This was originally organized in a way that the same lesson content was repeated in two separate lessons with a different group of students; however, due to very low number of attendees in both lessons, the two groups have been combined as of week 9 and we’ve started having 2 lessons a week with the same group of students with a different content in each lesson. These lessons are delivered after classes (14:45-15:35) on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week.

2.2. Student Development Sessions

We have had two more live student sessions for our students until this week. In week 7, students had a chance to learn about “How to Revise Vocabulary” thanks to Babak Jahanaray and in week 9, they worked on ” Mastering their Pronunciation” with the help of AyĹźe Gizem Çiftçi. Both of these sessions were quite engaging and useful for the students thanks to our presenters. Below are some photos from these live sessions.
