You are cordially invited to Quality Talk Series #2: “Student Insights”
“Quality Talks” is a series of online event organized with the collaboration of Ozyegin University and Macmillan Education. It aims at providing insight into quality assurance in education and language learning and teaching in the post-Covid era. The series will consist of multi-phased panel discussions and sessions focusing on quality during distance education and beyond from the perspective of learners, teachers, teacher trainers, managers, education faculty members and education specialists with a variety of background.
The second session of the event ‘Student Insights’ will look at ‘quality’ from students’ perspectives with the views of experts from the field of education. It will be held on Thursday, 10th at 15:30. The registration link can be found here.
QUALITY TALK SERIES #2 STUDENT INSIGHTS
Doğa graduated from Hacı Malike Mehmet Bileydi Anatolian High School. She currently studies at Middle East Technical University in Foreign Language Education department. Comparative studies of Romance languages, literature, world cinema, writing short stories are some of her interests.
Esra graduated from Asiye Ağaoğlu Anatolian High School. She currently studies at Özyeğin University. She has just completed PREP school and will start her faculty studies in Aviation Management. Being healthy and happy is important for her, so she loves doing yoga and exercise, cooking healthy dishes, and listening to podcasts and finding new songs.
Oğuz graduated from Arı Anatolian High School. He currently studies at Middle East Technical University in Foreign Language Education department. Literature, theatre, writing stories or myths, playing the guitar and drum, teaching what he knows to other people are some of his interests.
Deniz studies at İDV Bilkent High School and he is a grade 10 student. He is planning to take the quantitative section at the university admission test. He is learning to play the guitar and interested in computer games.
Merve Şen completed her high school education at Koç School and undergraduate and graduate education at Boğaziçi University. Upon graduation, she worked as an Psychological Counselor at BÜREM and BÜSÖD, psychological counseling centers of Boğaziçi University, until November 2019. After receiving Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (CBT) training given by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zihni Sungur between 2014-2018, she was accredited by EABCT (European Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies) and earned to be entitled as a psychotherapist. She specialized in CBT and 3rd wave psychotherapies with the trainings she has been receiving from world-renowned foreign professors. In addition to her education and student-centered therapy experience, she conducted individual and group therapy sessions in various therapy centers in Istanbul and worked as a corporate psychotherapist.
Psychological Counselor and Psychotherapist Merve Şen has been working as a Team Leader at Özyeğin University Psychological Development Unit since February 2020.
Prof. Dr. Feyza Doyran works at Hasan Kalyoncu University as the head of English Language Teaching department. She received her M.A. in English Language Teaching and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle East Technical University. She conducted her Post-Doctoral studies in the Department of Educational Psychology at University of Texas in Austin. She has published books and articles on teacher education and training, ELT methodology, professional morality and syllabus design.
