1. Teacher Strand

1.1. Research Strand: Spring Semester Overview

The research schedule and groups for the  spring semester have been finalized. The research team will be divided into two separate groups on Wednesday and Thursday. The Wednesday group will meet between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM, while the Thursday group will meet between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. 

Throughout the spring semester, there will be four face-to-face meetings, each focusing on different aspects of the research process:

  • Session 5: Data Collection
    • Dates: February 14th and 15th
    • Focus: This session will center on initiating the data collection process, providing valuable insights into effective research methodologies.
  • Session 6: Ethical Procedures
    • Dates: February 28th and 29th
    • Focus: Participants will delve into ethical considerations and procedures essential for conducting responsible and credible research. An emphasis will be placed on completing the institutional ethical procedure documents through hands-on practice.
  • Session 7: Data Analysis
    • Dates: April 3rd and 4th
    • Focus: Attendees will learn about techniques and tools for analyzing collected data, facilitating meaningful interpretation and conclusions. During data analysis, participants will receive individual support following the session.
  • Session 8: Reflection and Planning Further Action
    • Dates: May 15th and 16th
    • Focus: This final session will entail reflection on the research process thus far and strategic planning for future actions based on findings. Following the session, participants who are interested in presenting or publishing will be guided in the preparation process.

2.1. ScOLa Clubs

We will keep running ScOLa clubs for our students in the spring semester, as well. Please see the poster below for the list of clubs that we are offering this semester and further details. We kindly ask you to inform your students about the clubs and encourage them to register to the clubs this week.

 

 

 

2.2. ÖzU English Language Support Center

ÖzU English Language Support Center will start functioning as of week 3 of the spring semester. The poster and the guidelines for the center will be shared with ScOLa instructors in the next couple of days to be announced and introduced to students in class on Thursday and Friday this week.
